Robert de Haan ( Proton Huber Competition Porsche 911 GT3 Cup #46) is now just 12 points behind championship leader Alessandro Ghiretti (Schumacher CLRT #11) in the Porsche Sixt Carrera Cup Deutschland standings.

“After another season of consistently strong racing, I’m really looking forward to the final two races. All four titles will be decided at Hockenheim – and some might not be settled until Sunday. Fans can expect a nail-biting finale,” said Thorsten Rückert, Project Manager Porsche Sixt Carrera Cup Deutschland.
Drivers: Showdown between Alessandro Ghiretti and Robert de Haan
The season-long battle between Porsche Junior Alessandro Ghiretti (Schumacher CLRT) and Robert de Haan (Proton Huber Competition) is set to be decided at the very last lap. With a win and a second place at the Red Bull Ring, the Dutchman has slashed his deficit to the French championship leader to just 12 points.
Each of the two Hockenheimring races offers a maximum of 25 points. To secure his second 2025 title after taking home the Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup crown, Ghiretti needs to extend his lead to at least 26 points following Saturday’s race.
“The Hockenheimring is more demanding than it looks. I only know it from my Formula 4 days, so the practice sessions on Thursday before the race will be crucial for me,” says series leader Ghiretti. After scoring a third and an 18th place at the Hockenheim circuit earlier this season, Ghiretti’s toughest rival de Haan remains confident: “I made up 22 points on Alessandro at the Red Bull Ring, and I see no reason why I can’t do the same at Hockenheim.”
Third-placed Huub van Eijndhoven lies 65 points adrift of Ghiretti. Driving for GP Elite, the Dutchman is locked in a battle for the final podium spot with Talent Pool driver Flynt Schuring (Schumacher CLRT). Israeli driver Ariel Levi (GP Elite), Porsche Junior Theo Oeverhaus (Bonk Motorsport), and Janne Stiak (Target), both from Germany, still have a slim chance to shake up this duel for third place overall.
ProAm: Michael Schrey has match point on Saturday
With seven wins from 14 races, Michael Schrey has dominated the ProAm category. Competing in Bonk Motorsport’s Porsche 911 GT3 Cup, the driver from Germany heads into the finale with a 39-point advantage over Ahmad Alshehab. The Kuwaiti would need to score at least 15 points on Saturday to remain in title contention on Sunday. This season, Alshehab has claimed two ProAm victories with the [a-workx] by Porsche Paderborn team.
Rookies: Dutch-British-Brazilian three-way fight
Three drivers still have a chance to be crowned top Rookie of the Year in the 2025 Porsche Sixt Carrera Cup Deutschland. With a win and a second place at the Red Bull Ring, Sacha Norden has slightly eased the pressure, extending his lead over British teammate Joseph Warhurst (Proton Huber Competition) to 17 points. Trailing by 35 points, Brazilian Matheus Ferreira (Target) also remains in contention for the rookie title.
Teams: France and the Netherlands vie for the trophy
The two best-placed drivers per race of each team contribute points towards the team standings, with a double win worth 45 points. This leaves up to 90 points still up for grabs at Hockenheim. In theory, Proton Huber Competition, 38 points behind third place, could still defend its title. In practice, however, the finale is likely to focus on the ongoing contest between a French and a Dutch team: GP Elite sits 24 points behind Schumacher CLRT, the two-time Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup team champion. In this category too, the championship remains wide open.
Racing with synthetic fuel
Committed to cutting CO2 emissions in motorsport, the Porsche Sixt Carrera Cup Deutschland will use the synthetic fuel “DTM Pro Climate” across all eight race weekends in the 2025 season. Partnering with the Carrera Cup, ADAC is also adopting this fuel for the first time for its DTM, ADAC GT Masters, and GT4 Germany series.
The racetrack: Hockenheimring
Today’s Hockenheimring began operations in 1932 as a ca. 12-kilometre test track on forest trails. Renamed the Kurpfalzring six years later, the track was paved and shortened to around seven kilometres. The construction of a new motorway in the 1960s called for a new track layout, including the Motodrom, which is still in use today.
In 1970, Formula 1 raced for the first time on the now 6.789-kilometre-long Hockenheimring. After several modifications, the so-called Ostkurve (east corner), a characteristic high-speed section, was decommissioned in the early 2000s and later restored to its natural forested state. The track as we know it today measures 4.574 kilometres. The Porsche Experience Centre Hockenheimring opened its doors in 2018. It includes a separate 2.7-kilometre handling track and an off-road circuit.
At the 2024 season finale, the winners’ trophies went to GP Elite drivers Huub van Eijndhoven from the Netherlands and Ariel Levi from Israel.
