- The Italian experiences the brand’s history and diversity and gets in the mood for the Porsche Tennis Grand Prix.
- She is particularly fascinated by the Egger-Lohner C2 Phaeton, the electric vehicle designed by Ferdinand Porsche in 1898.
- Her dream car is the Porsche 911, preferably in black.
For all her admiration for the electric pioneer and the vision of Ferdinand Porsche – her dream Porsche is clearly the 911. “It’s a classic,” says the 29-year-old Italian. One of the most improved players in the 2024 season, she won the WTA Masters in Dubai and was the runner-up at Roland Garros and Wimbledon. Together with her doubles partner Sara Errani, she additionally fulfilled her dream of Olympic gold in Paris. She also does not like making compromises away from the court and therefore has a clear idea as to the colour of her desired 911: “Black.”
Jasmine Paolini contested the Porsche Tennis Grand Prix for the first time in 2024 and immediately felt at home. “I’m looking forward to enjoying the tournament’s fantastic atmosphere again,” she said shortly before going back out onto court after returning from the Porsche Museum – and at the same time having the Porsche Macan Turbo, this year’s main prize for the winner, firmly in view at one end of Centre Court. Whether she will return home to Italy in the attractive electric athlete is something she does not want to think about yet. “Let’s play the first match,” she smiled, “and then we’ll see.”
Porsche in Tennis
The Porsche Tennis Grand Prix is the flagship of Porsche’s worldwide involvement in women’s tennis. First played in Filderstadt in 1978, the long-standing Stuttgart tournament has been held in the city’s Porsche Arena since 2006. It stands for tradition and innovation, as does the Porsche brand. As the most loyal sponsor of women’s international tennis, Porsche has accompanied the WTA’s oldest indoor event right from the start. Furthermore, Porsche has been supporting women’s tennis internationally for years. Iga Swiatek and Maria Sakkari are “Friends of the Brand” in their home countries. Porsche has been a premium partner of the “Deutsche Tennis Bund” (DTB – German Tennis Association) since 2012 and is committed to fostering up-and-coming players in the Porsche Talent Team and the Porsche Junior Team.
